Robert (Bob) Russell Mucho, 81, of Greenwood, went home to be with the Lord on January 26, 2012. He was born March 3, 1930 in Jamestown, Indiana.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Sandra K. Mucho, two sons, Scott (Tonda) and Robert Mucho, one step-daughter, Jennifer Mettler, and three step sons, Timothy, James (Vivian) and Alan (Kim) Leach. He has five grandchildren (Kim, Donald, Matt, Kevin and Brian), 7 step-grandchildren (Charlie, Allison, Will, Sarah, Matt, Evan, and Rachel), and two great-grandchildren (Alexa and Robert). His parents Russell and Roberta Mucho preceded him in death.
He was a Veteran of the Korean War. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Second Class Gunners Mate. He served on the U.S.S. Higbee 806 from 1950 – 1954. He retired from Allison Transmission after 39 years of service. He was a member of the Southport Church of the Nazarene.
Services will be held at the Southport Church of the Nazarene, 920 E. Southport Road, Indianapolis, Indiana, Monday, January 30, 2012 @ 1:30 pm. Visitation will be Sunday, January 29, 2012 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Monday, 12:00 – 1:30 pm at the Church. Burial will be Tuesday, January 31, 2012 @ 10:00 am at Marion National Cemetery, 1700 E. 38th St, Marion, Indiana.
Bob spent his last few days at The Gathering Together (funded by contributions) under the care of Rita Fiorentino and Advocate Hospice. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Gathering Together, 147 N. Center Street, Plainfield, IN 46168.
